How much do you charge to advertise a horse?
Stallion ads and sale horse ads are currently the same price:
TEXT ADS: $15 (web link allowed)
PHOTO ADS: $30 (3 photos)
VIDEO ADS: $45 (3 photos and a video clip)
All ads run for six months and are renewable at just $15 - the best deal online!
We use a credit system, where you purchase a set amount of credits and then use them in any combination to place ads at any time. Click here for more info on credits.
Are you affiliated with any of the incentive programs or associations listed here?
No. RideWithTheProgram.com is a privately owned web site and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or related to any of the associations or programs listed on these pages.
Can you give me more information on a specific incentive program?
No. We are not affiliated with any of the programs here and would not want to give you incorrect information in error. Please contact the association responsible for the program you have questions about. A list of links is included on The Incentives page.
Why incentive programs?
The idea behind creating a site for horses enrolled in or eligible for various incentive programs was to give people in the reining, cutting and reined cow horse industries a place to buy and sell their kind of horses. Going on the assumption that a breeder of halter horses would probably not enroll their foals in something like the National Reining Breeders Classic (NRBC), we thought making incentive programs the defining criteria for inclusion in the site would be a simple way to avoid having you wade through thousands of horses you have no interest in. It is what differentiates us from other large, automated sale horse sites... your time is valuable, and who wants to shuffle through all those horses? We don't.
My horse is not eligible for any incentives, but she has earned NRHA money and AQHA points. I also have a prospect by an NCHA earning sire. Can they be on the site?
Definitely. We always want horses that are proven in the show arena: reining, cutting or cow horse money or point earners are invited. Prospects from sires and dams that have proven themselves are also welcome. Just check one of the options in the 'Site Eligibility' section of the form when placing your ad. Please read the Eligibility section for more.
Other sale horse sites offer free text ads. How come you charge for your text ads?
A few reasons... the first being that unlike other sites, RideWithTheProgram.com considers it important to advertise in national and regional print publications geared toward the reining, cutting and reined cow horse industries. Most people in these industries subscribe to publications like the Quarter Horse News, Performance Horse, NRCHA Stock Horse News, NCHA Chatter and/or NRHA Reiner - we want to expose your horses to these people! This is relatively expensive, and we need to keep the accountant happy.
The second reason is that we want people to be able to link to their own web sites (and other potential horses) on every ad: other sites do not permit web URLs on their text ads. We do, because you have paid for it.
I have been using DownTheFence.com to sell my cow horses for awhile. Why do I have to place an ad on RideWithTheProgram.com to get a horse on DTF now?
We created DownTheFence.com in 2004 as a resource for the reined cow horse community. As the sale horse area grew, it became difficult to keep up with the hand-coded ads. When we launched RideWithTheProgram.com, providing another place to list cow horses, we figured using the same automated database would be an asset to DownTheFence.com advertisers. There is no additional cost now for DTF ads. The crossover will occur automatically if the sale horse ad you placed on RWTP is for a 'Cow Horse', or a Multiple Event prospect under two years old.
Who created this site and how can I get in contact with you about helping me advertise?
RideWithTheProgram.com is a division of Electric Spin Enterprises, a design company based just north of Denver, Colorado. We are horse people too, who just happen to have a passion for marketing. If you'd like help getting your advertising off the ground, check out the prices and portfolio on www.ElectricSpinEnterprises.com or call (720) 890-8908. We're also responsible for the successful reined cow horse site, www.DownTheFence.com, which includes an extensive show calendar, clinics, trainer tips, stallions and authentic cow horses for sale.

My gelding is a cutter, but he’s not eligible for any of the programs on your list... now what?
Are you sure he's not? Please check out The Incentives for a brief overview of the programs included on RWTP, and a link to official web sites where you can get more details and a list of enrolled stallions. Chances are your horse's sire is nominated to a program within some segment of the reining, cutting, or cow horse industries, even if it's not in his main event. Perhaps the NRCHA Stakes, or the NRBC... your gelding may not have actually been enrolled in the NRBC as a foal, but if his sire is one of the 304 stallions currently paid up, your horse qualifies as an NRBC eligible horse, even though he is a cutter, and even though he may be past the age of competing at the NRBC even if he were a reiner! You can list him as a cutter, choosing the NRBC eligible option to allow him on the site.
If your horse has had some success in the show pen and is an 'earner', simply check the relevant NRHA $, NRCHA $, or NCHA $ box in the ad placement form. There are also checkboxes for AQHA, APHA and ApHC points (please check these only if your horse has earned points in reining, cutting, or reined cow horse). Prospects from sires and dams that have proven themselves are also welcome. We encourage you to still check the incentives eligible for or enrolled in, as buyers can also search by incentive program.
The point of RideWiththeProgram.com is not to exclude authentic show horses or prospects, but to keep the selection of horses legitimately within the cutting, reining and reined cow horse industries.
My bridle horse is sired by an NRCHA Stakes stallion, but she’s too old to compete at that event. Can she still be advertised here?
Sure! When all is said and done, RideWiththeProgram.com is for prospects, show horses, and breeding horses that the average reiner, cutter or cow horse fan or participant would consider as being a legitimate horse for their event. The incentive program criteria are mostly to keep buyers from having to sort through dozens of barrel horses or rope horses to find what they are really looking for. If someone were looking for a finished bridle horse to go show in the non pro events, we would not want to keep them from finding your mare!
My horse has earned money in NRHA, NRCHA, NCHA events, and/or has earned breed association points in reining, cutting or working cowhorse, yet she is not eligible for any incentive programs. Can I still put her on your site?
Yes! Simply check the NRHA $, NRCHA $, or NCHA $ box in the ad placement form.
My horse does it all, or may do it all in the future. How do I choose a main event?
This is a tricky one. We would all love to say that our reiner would be a star in the cow horse arena if only he were given a chance to work cattle, or that our yearling shouldn't be pigeonholed into one event. That's why RideWiththeProgram.com offers a 'Multiple Event' choice. However, being so broad may not be to your advantage when advertising here. Remember that buyers will usually be performing advanced searches to locate horses... so if a buyer is searching for a 2004 Reining mare for the derbies, she will not find your 2004 Multiple Event mare. A good rule of thumb: if your horse has been trained or shown primarily in reining, choose Reining. If your yearling is by a well-known cutting sire who has produced few, if any, reiners and cow horses, choose Cutting. If your horse has competed respectably in cutting and cow horse or is a weanling by a sire on the leading sires lists for several disciplines, choose Multiple Event.
Why do you have programs like the AQHA Incentive Fund included? Anyone can pay their stallion up in that...
True, but a seller on RWTP still has to list their horse's event as Reining, Cutting, or Cow Horse. Surely folks with western pleasure prospects will not be interested in marketing their foals to these industries anyway. Including broader programs like the AQHA IF allows RideWithTheProgram.com to be open to a larger pool of horses while still keeping the focus on particular events.
I know of an incentive program that I think should be on your site – can I submit it?
You sure can... please do. You can contact us directly at help@ridewiththeprogram.com or via this contact form. Please include any information you have on the proposed incentive, including the association's relevant contact person. We will let you know if the program has been approved or not, and when to expect it on RWTP.

My stallion isn’t for sale, and he’s never competed in reining, cutting, or reined cow horse. But he is a PCCHA Subscribed Stallion... can I advertise him here?
Certainly. Just choose the At Stud ad type when you're placing your ad, and mark the incentive he's enrolled in or subscribed to. You are also free to choose whatever event your horse is siring best, or Multiple Event if you would like.
My stallion is for sale, but I’m also standing him at stud... your form only lets me choose one option – what gives?
We consider this to be two different types of advertising, so you are welcome to place two ads for your stallion – each will be assigned a different ad number and treated as completely separate ads... so any edits to one ad would need to be manually changed in the other. Feel free to mention his ‘dual status’ in the text of both ads, however.
This same principle applies to horses like broodmares that may be ‘for sale’ and ‘for lease’... please place a separate ad for each purpose.
I’m considering offering an incentive program for those who breed to my stallion next year – will you include that on RideWiththeProgram.com?
We already have a place for it! It’s called ‘Sire-sponsored Incentive’, and the best way to get the word out is to place an ‘at stud’ listing for your stallion, checking the ‘Sire-sponsored Incentive’ box. You can also advertise eligible foals on RWTP, checking that same box and explaining the incentive details in the text of their ad. Good luck!

We use a credit system, where you purchase a set amount of credits and then use them in any combination to place ads at any time.
Why do you use ‘credits’? If a credit is just one dollar, why not just use dollar amounts?
In our experience with another successful sale horse site (www.downthefence.com), some sellers plan to put a photo ad online, but do not have their photos taken yet. You may just be finishing up a video on a horse and do not have it ready to upload yet, but don’t want to wait to advertise the horse. Purchasing 45 credits would allow you to purchase a text ad, then later upgrade to a photo ad, or purchase a photo ad and upgrade later to a video ad.
Credits can be used at a later date too. If the horse sells before you even upgrade, you can use your remaining credits to advertise one or two more horses, purchasing one photo ad or two text ads. We like options and we’re betting you do too.
I purchased 60 credits, but I only used 30 and I don’t have any more horses to sell. Can I get a refund?
Refunds are not available for unused credits. Your credits do not expire, so you can keep them in your account indefinitely and use the remainder when you have a horse to advertise. You may even offer to advertise a friend’s horse for them, being aware that unless you specify and include your friend’s contact info in the text of the ad, all responses may be directed to you.

I don’t trust the internet with my credit card, but I do want to advertise a horse on your site. Can I call you with my credit card, or do you accept checks or money orders?
All of our credit card processing is done securely online, via the internationally trusted, secure third party processor Paypal. Paypal accepts all major credit cards and does not require a Paypal account to process your transaction. We cannot accept credit cards over the phone, and please do not send credit card information via email.
We do accept personal or business checks and money orders only from within the United States. First create a login account with RWTP, writing down the email address you used and your password. You can then send a check in any amount (minimum $15 US) made out to “Electric Spin Enterprises” to the following address:
RWTP c/o Electric Spin Enterprises
12500 Arapahoe Road
Lafayette, CO 80026
Please provide your FIRST & LAST NAME, and the EMAIL ADDRESS and PASSWORD of your account with your payment. You will be contacted after your check has cleared and the credits have been added to your account. You must then sign in to complete your profile, place ads, etc.

I can't see any of the 'Browse' links at the top of the page... What am I missing?
You are probably using the new Internet Explorer 7 to surf the web, and have Norton Internet Security running as well. Unfortunately this browser/security combination views many site functionalities as security risks. Please disable the popup blocker and ad blocker in the 'Web Browsing' area of your Norton settings for this web site. We are currently checking into a workaround for this browser-related technical issue. You can also contact us for assistance.
I can't sign in - it says my account has not been verified. I just registered. Help!
For security and to protect you from spam abuse (as well as to make sure you are able to receive replies to your ads), RideWithTheProgram.com MUST make sure that the email address you registered with is valid. To do that, we send you a 'verification email' right after you have submitted the registration form. Before you can login the first time, you must go to your email's Inbox and wait for that email from us. In most cases it arrives within seconds, but depending on server connections it may take up to 30 minutes. Be sure to check your spam filter to be sure it has not been rerouted there! Once you find that email, follow the link within it to verify your account. You can then login and begin placing ads. Please contact us if you can't find the verification email and we can help you get verified and on your way.
I’m sure this was the email address and password I signed in with, but it’s not working. Help!
First try just entering your email address and requesting your password be emailed to you. It should arrive in your inbox within five minutes - be sure to check your spam filter if you don't see it. If the error message tells you your email address is not recognized, please try another email address and repeat the process or contact us for more assistance.
When I click on a Photo #2 link within an ad, nothing happens even though the link looks to be active. What’s going on?
It sounds like you have a pop-up blocker running, which prevents new windows from opening even when you request them by clicking on a link. First, test if this is the case by holding down your Control key or Shift key while you try the link again. If a photo appears, you will need to either perform that same action each time you want to access a photo in a new window, or you can specify to your browser or security system that RideWiththeProgram.com is a safe site that you can always accept pop-ups from.
For Internet Explorer, go to Tools/Pop-Up Blocker/Pop-Up Blocker Settings and allow http://www.ridewiththeprogram.com. For Mozilla Firefox, this same option is under Tools/Options/Content. In AOL, a link to ‘Allow All Pop-Ups From This Site’ should be at the bottom right of your screen, or you can disable pop-up suppression from Settings/Preferences/Pop-Ups. If you use the Google or Yahoo Toolbars, you will have to allow our pop-ups from within those toolbars. Please contact us if you need help.
I keep getting an error message when I try to upload my photos – something about file size?
If you tried to upload photos directly from your digital camera, chances are in their raw, unaltered state they greatly exceed the file size allowed on RWTP. You can use your computer’s image editing program to resize the files, save them under a new name, and upload to RWTP. Please use our help form if you continue to have problems.
Due to several queries, we want to include a short tutorial here on how to resize your photos, for Windows users. You will use the free 'Paint' program that is included on your machine:
1. Open the Paint program by clicking on your START menu, then 'All Programs', then 'Accessories', then 'Paint'.
2. From within the program, click on 'File', then 'Open...' and browse to where your original image is located to open it.
3. When the image is open, click on 'Image' on the top menu, then 'Stretch/Skew'.
4. In the stretch and skew screen, add a smaller percentage in the box for height and width - make sure it is the same!
5. If you don't like the size it changed to, go up to 'Edit' on the top menu and hit undo.
6. Once the file is the size you like, click on 'File', then 'Save As...'. Give your file a new name and save it somewhere easy to find. That's it! It's ready to upload.
It says each photo ad can have up to three photos displayed. Why does my ad show only the first photo?
In order to offer the viewers speedy downloading times, we decided to display one photo within the body of your ad, while the other photos and video clip are accessible by simply clicking on the prominent links below the text description of your horse. This allows us to keep things clean and also allows a larger image to be displayed in the window which will appear when a viewer clicks on the link.
I don’t have a scanner. Can I mail you my actual photos?
Yes, you can - but it's probably cheaper and easier to have a nearby friend or relative scan and email the files to you to upload. We charge $15 (or 15 credits) per photo to scan and return the photo to you. We do not return photos via registered or insured mail - just regular USPS - and do not take responsibility for photos lost or damaged by the mail service.
If you’d like to send your photos, please include a check ($15 per photo) made out to “Electric Spin Enterprises” to the following address:
RWTP c/o Electric Spin Enterprises
12500 Arapahoe Road
Lafayette, CO 80026
Be sure to include a return address. We will let you know via email when your photos have been received and then returned in the mail.
I have new photos to add and I want to change the one that appears at the top of my ad. How do I do that?
Login to your account, and from the ‘Manage Ads’ area locate the ad you’d like to change and click ‘Edit Ad’. From there you will find a place to upload different photos. The photo known as ‘Photo #1’ will be displayed near the top of your ad, while the other photos will pop up in a new window when the viewer clicks the respective link.
You can also choose which of your three photos you would like to display as the thumbnail, which is a small image appearing in the short listing of your horse’s ad when it appears along all the other ads in a search. In most cases we recommend you leave Photo #1 as the default thumbnail so that when a viewer sees your ad he/she recognizes the same horse from the thumbnail.
My question hasn't been answered here. Will I get a real person if I call you on the phone?
Yes. We prefer email communication because sometimes it's easier to understand questions and answers in written format, or you may need to be walked through a process... impossible if you have dial-up internet access which uses your phone line. If you'd like to call us at (720) 890-8908, please do so between 9 AM and 5 PM, MST. We look forward to talking with you!
